Plan Your Landscape for 2020
When you look at your front and back yards, can you already see small signs that summer is over? For example, are your caladiums beginning to thin out? Maybe there are fewer blossoms on your rose bushes or on other flowering plants. Sad, isn't it?
Even though the summer of 2019 is pretty much a thing of the past, maybe you've been considering making plans for your 2020 spring and summer landscaping. If that's the case, do you already know what you want to do to your gardens next year? If so, no need to keep reading. On the other hand, if you are looking for ideas, from making an assessment of this year's garden to arranging for sprinkler repair services, here are some ideas that might help you.
Assess The Front And Back Gardens
Think of taking three things with you as you make an assessment of your front yard and of your back yard landscaping. Those three items are a pen, paper and a camera, even if it's your cell phone camera. Those three things will help you to note everything you want for next year.
For example, if you love the way your hardscape turned out, take a picture of it. By doing so, you'll remember which plants you used to make it attractive. Next spring you can simply duplicate your design. Maybe you were disappointed in some of the plants you selected this year. For example, maybe the periwinkle you thought was going to be fabulous just didn't perform. Write down something like, Replace periwinkle plants with geraniums. You get the picture, right?
Sprinkler Repair And More
By the end of the summer, were you watering everything by hand? If so, you were probably doing that because your sprinkler stopped functioning correctly. Maybe you decided that summer was so close to being over that you wouldn't worry about that.
Instead of postponing your sprinkler repair, consider having that done now. By next spring many other people will probably be needing sprinkler repair services, tool. With that in mind, consider the fact that you might have to wait in line for workers to come to your house. Think of getting the sprinklers repaired even before winter comes. The workers will have the training and the experience to know just how to solve whatever problem the sprinklers have. And, the great thing is that the repair services will probably be a lot more affordable than you thought they would be.
If your landscape needs any other repairs or special considerations, think about getting those done when you fix the sprinkler system as well so that your landscape is ready to flourish right when spring comes again.
